6P HABITS FOR SUCCESS
Contrary to what many think, success doesn’t come by chance. One has to do what he has to do to get it – he has to prepare for it.
Both success and failure come as a result of habit; something you do daily determines your success or failure. Habits are created by continual repetition of actions. Scientists say that it takes 21 days to make a habit. But when they get a hold of you, they will mold you for life. In the beginning, you make your habits, but In the end, your habits make you. That is why you need to destroy every destructive habit and create new good ones – beneficial and constructive habits.
New habits don’t come by prayer and fasting, they come by repetition of action. As a matter of fact, the way to destroy destructive habits is by replacing them with good ones. You can be a success, but you’ve got to discipline yourself to do daily what failures do occasionally. You can’t think, talk and act like a failure every day, and expect to succeed every year.
- PLANNING: they say, “failing to plan is planning to fail”, how true! Bring some order into your life by organizing your time and activities wisely.
Activity is not productivity. To be productive you must plan for it.
You must train yourself to be a goal setter and work yourself to be a goal-getter; you plan your day and set goals, then punish your body to get the goals you set.
Anyone who doesn’t plan is plainly saying that he doesn’t want to progress. For no progress comes by accident.
2: PRAYER: Prayer is an essential ingredient in the fulfillment of God’s word and His will in your life as a Christian. There is no true success and prosperity without it.
Prayer is a privilege as well as a responsibility for every Christian, that is why you must pray even when you don’t feel like it. (Luke 18:1)
The more you discipline yourself to pray, the easier it will become. Don’t say, “I will pray”, set aside a specific time for it, and drive yourself to do it.
3: PUNCTUALITY: how you respect your time speaks volumes of the kind of person you’re. Don’t go to church or to other important meetings at your own leisure; you have to consciously practice punctuality. Train yourself to be always on time. It will win you a lot of good. You’ll be amazed at the opportunities that will come to you as a result of your punctuality.
Never procrastinate punctuality. Be punctual. There is no good time to start practicing this than now.
4:PERSISTENCE: there are people who are always at the start zone, because they cannot stick to something and see it mature – they give up easily. They start out on a business venture that seemed profitable and were excited about it at the initial stage. However, two or three months down the line, it didn’t seem like they had made as much profit as they’d expected and as a result they gave up on the business. Meanwhile, they could have acted on the word and make their business work…
Don’t give in, don’t give up, you can succeed at anything if you stick yourself to it until it works. Winners never give up, only losers do.
5: PERFECTION: Don’t be a careless person, be excellent. Train yourself to be the best in and to bring out the best out of every situation. Train yourself to be perfect. Be perfect in the way you talk, dress, walk, and live. Don’t settle for better, when you can become perfect. “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” (Matthew 5:48)
Pursue perfection in all your endeavors.
6: PROSPERITY: The word of God will not give you prosperity, it is prosperity. The more you practice it, the more prosperous you become (Joshua 1:8). It is the master key to heaven’s doors and gates.
You’ve got to practice the word daily to win, succeed and prosper daily. The word will make you what it talks about! Get to the word!
