Eyes Of Faith To The Future

EYES OF FAITH TO THE FUTURE

You can be assured that every promise God has made to you will come to pass. He has sworn it by Himself and by His oath. Let’s read this promise in the Amplified Version of the Bible:

Men indeed swear by a greater than themselves, and with them in all disputes the oath taken for confirmation is final [ending strife]. Accordingly God also, in His desire to show more convincingly and beyond doubt to those who were to inherit the promise the unchangeableness of His purpose and plan, intervened [mediated[ with an oath. This was so that, but two unchangeable things [His promise and His oath] in which it is impossible for God every to prove false or deceive us, we who have fled [to Him] for refuge might have mighty indwelling strength and strong encouragement to grasp and hold fast the hope appointed for us and set before us. (Hebrews 6:16-18, TAB)

God doesn’t want the standard of how people think in the world to be the final word, so He goes beyond that. His desire is to show us convincingly and beyond a shadow of a doubt that His promises will be fulfilled to those who have fled to Him for refuge.

God has given you a vision. He has given you a ministry. He has made promises to you. Do not look to the greatness of the task before you, but look to the greatness of God. Be like the great Patriarch Abraham who “…believed God even though such a promise just couldn’t come to pass!” (Romans 4:18, TLB).

Do not look to your own abilities to claim God’s promises or fulfill your vision. In the natural, Abraham had no ability to fulfill God’s plan, nevertheless…

Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable. (Hebrews 11:12)

When the vision was first given to Abraham, his past had been unproductive and his present was unproductive. But he did not accept the deadness of his own body nor that of Sarah’s womb.

Perhaps your past has been spiritually unproductive and your present is still unfruitful, but God is instilling in you a new vision for His purposes. As Abraham, look with eyes of faith into the future knowing that “He who has promised is able also to perform it.”

Make this declaration:

I will not look to the greatness of my task. I will not look to my own abilities. I will look with eyes of faith into the future knowing that He who has promised is able to perform it.
