LED BY THE SPIRIT
If you are to eliminate confusion you must first, reject every trace of confusion and act on God’s promises; second, wait upon God and draw upon His wisdom; third, reject Satan’s lies and act on the truth; and fourth, act, knowing you have heard from God Exodus 3:17-22. Here is the fifth and final strategy that will enable you to conquer confusion:
Strategy number five: Face your circumstances knowing God’s will. Lack of clarity in direction will cause confusion which enters in when we fail to hear God’s voice, know His will, and take the right direction.
God has always planned for His people to have clear direction and know His will. After He delivered the children of Israel out of Egyptian bondage, He did not leave them out in the wilderness on their own to find their way to the Promised Land. His presence went before them to lead and guide them:
And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night. He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people. (Exodus 13:21-22)
There was no confusion among the great multitude of more than two million people in knowing God’s direction. They were not divided or disorganized with a lot of different groups, each going a different way. God supernaturally led them and they all moved together in unity.
When the cloud lifted off the tabernacle, they journeyed. But as long as it remained upon the tabernacle, they did not move. They didn’t move one inch until God directed them to go forward (Numbers 9:17-22).
There is no reason why we should ever be confused or frustrated concerning God’s will or direction in our lives. God has made the way clear. He has revealed His will to us through His Word. We do not ever need to be in doubt. By His Spirit within us, we can know God’s will and direction in every circumstance we face.
God’s Presence — His Spirit — dwells within our spirits and as we yield and submit ourselves to Him, He will guide and direct us. As sons of God, we are led by His Spirit. “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God” (Romans 8:14).
The reason so many Christians are confused and frustrated concerning God’s will and direction for their lives, is because they are not depending upon the Spirit of God to lead them. They are not staying in God’s presence and His Word long enough to find His will. They are not spending seasons of prayer and fasting, waiting upon God and seeking to know His will. They are looking for someone else to give them direction. They want someone to tell them what God’s will is for their life.
Confusion comes when we fail to wait upon the Spirit of God for His direction. We must be led, directed, and controlled by God’s Spirit.
Make this declaration:
I will face my circumstances today from a position of knowing. I will be led, directed and controlled by God’s Spirit.
